This Outfitter has a 110,000 acre ranch uniquely set at the crossroads of the south Texas brush country and the Texas Coastal Plains. This gives us a habitat second to none for all native wildlife. This fact will become abundantly clear as you drive through the ranch. The amount of game is something that isn’t explained well in words, it’s better to see it for yourself.
In brief, the Outfitter strives to be the best. We enjoy hunting just as much as our clients do and look forward to each and everyday doing what we love. With a 90% repeat clientele our season is more like a family reunion then a hunting trip, our clients are their friends.
The guides are all very educated in all matters of professional hunting. Our guides have at least one year of apprenticing before they are allowed to take clients hunting. It is important to us that we get to train them specifically to our management plan, watch there people skills, and mold them into personable and enthusiastic hunters. All of the guides spend most of their spare time hunting themselves so, it’s safe to say they love hunting. You will find a setting where there is no guide competition but rather a place where guides all help each other to accomplish whatever our hunters goals may be.
The lodge is set along the Mellon Creek surrounded by south Texas brush, hackberry trees, and native grass. There is a small pond that we have stocked with bass right beside the lodge for anyone who wants to do a little fishing during the down time. A top of the line skinning building is a few yards from the lodge where all meat and trophy preparation is handled. We’ve found that this seems to be the evening hang out as guides and clients start cooking back in for dinner. Although we like to think of this operation as a get away from our client’s daily grind, the lodge is equipped with Wifi for those that need to stay in touch with family, conduct business, or if you want to brag to your friends back home about the good time your having at this ranch. Three meals a day are served by our cook who is very good at what he does.
